powell Area Information

Designated an All-America City in 1994, Powell is a small, rural town in the Big Horn Basin, beautifully situated between the Absaroka and Big Horn Ranges. Powell's high desert climate means mild winters and warm, dry summers that are well suited to agriculture first developed there in the early 1900s with the Shoshone Irrigation Project and tourism.
